Course Information:
This is the 3
rd edition of the Italian CC is based in Sorrento, a few miles from Dr. Fabrizio Cilento’s native town of Naples, in Southern Italy. While the focus of the course presents a new emphasis on the relationship between social services and film locations (fostered by the co-leadership of Dr. Charlene Lane), I am delighted to confirm the established partnership with the Sant’Anna Institute. The school is located in a historic convent perched on the cliffs of the Amalfi coast (see cover picture on the syllabus), overlooking the fishing village of Marina Grande. Sant’Anna is recognized for excellence in the field for independent and faculty-led study abroad programs. The Italian CC falls in the latter category. We will be in charge of all the planning, teach all the morning classroom sessions, and coordinate the external activities. Yet, the institute will provide logistic support for the service learning and connect our students with the best local guides and entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, anti-Mafia activists, immigration experts, and service learning opportunities. The team we’ll be working with includes President Cristiana Panicco, Director Olga Stinga, Academic Coordinator Dr. Marco Marino and a dozen local guides. For more information on the Sant’Anna Mission, click
