BIOL 218 collageCourse Description:
Study “Healthcare in the Developing World” while living on a research campus in the rural African community around the Macha Mission Hospital and develop a better understanding of the differences in health care practiced in the developing world as compared what you may experience in the US.  Observations in the Macha Mission hospital will enhance classroom discussions.  We will discuss diseases and disease patterns common among people living in the developing world, as exemplified by people in the Southern Province of Zambia.  You will develop an understanding of how cultural patterns, practices and customs relate to health and health care.
