Course Description:

Missionaries carried the gospel to Africa as colonial powers invaded the continent in the late 1800s. Today, a thriving African church and continued missionary activity confront a society of extremes: a rising middle class alongside entrenched poverty, technological advances alongside the scourge of AIDS.
 Kenya jterm20
The course will be based in central Kenya, in an area with a church history dating back over 100 years. We will examine the development of Christianity in Africa and participate in the ongoing work of Christians, both missionaries and Kenyans.

We’ll spend most of our time in one place, so we can get to know people more deeply. As an honored guest, you may be invited to pray out loud, sing in a group or share a word of encouragement. In addition, we will probably be walking—a lot—perhaps a few miles some days, so please consider whether that would be enjoyable for you.

Estimated course fee: $4300
