There are three categories of Educator international travel that involve Messiah University:
- Educators traveling with students;
- Educators traveling in fulfillment of job expectations and/or as a request from their supervisor;
- Educators involved in optional travel using College funds.
Educators traveling in Categories 2 & 3 through Messiah University should apply to register their international travel through this program at least two weeks prior to departure.
If you have questions about which policy Category your upcoming international travel fits in, please reach out to your dean or immediate supervisor.
Categories 1 and 2 require vetting and approval by Messiah’s International Risk Management Committee. However, Educators’ involved in optional travel using College funds (Category 3) are not vetted by the International Risk Management Committee and are therefore required to do their own research to be aware of and assess the risks of their travel.
Questions regarding the
Educator International Travel Vetting policy and/or
Messiah’s international insurance coverage can be directed to Paula Holtzinger (pholtzinger@messiah.edu or x6089), Director of Off-Campus Programs.
