Program Description:
Course description:
This course will introduce students to the history and culture of the countries of Iceland, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden through readings, travel, and site visits to significant cultural and historical sites. Particular attention will be paid to cultural and environmental sustainability themes. We will spend time both in major cities and more remote places. Students will explore what it means to live a more sustainable lifestyle in four of the highest ranked sustainable countries in the world. Site visits, seminars, readings, travel, and local interactions will engage students in the past, present, and future of Nordic life in light of their own cultural biases.

Estimated Course Fee: $5,500
